I recently took the challenge of trying out for ArenaNet’s Creature Artist Intern position. I tried to work on the creature as soon as I had the opportunity to. I’m not sure how long the position is to remain open, so I opted for working quickly and efficiently, with still care for and attention to detail.
Sunset Level WIP 2 – Waterfalls and more
Revealing more of the content from the level as it progresses, with a main focus around this area.
Sunset Level WIP 1 – Broken Bridge
I’ve been trying to learn more and do more within Unreal Engine 4, and although this is only a fragment of what I hope to achieve with the given assets, it does feature what I consider close to finished for this small section.
Broadening Horizons
I’ve been trying to keep being innovative to have fresh content, but I am finding myself unable to see some ideas through. Some ideas just end up being practice or scrapped, as I’m really hoping to hone in on some ideas to feature for my portfolio.
I’ve also been looking for work, and spending some of my time applying for jobs. Not having much luck though isn’t helpful to maintain a creative mind, and as a result I’ve fallen into a bit of a slump. I’ve ended up considering work outside of my field.
Despite the slump, I’d like to feature some of those scrapped ideas below!
World Building In UE4 – Desert, Field
Getting back into some world building, made some very tiny landscapes for Unreal Engine 4 using demo assets. I never had much of an opportunity in college to use Unreal as my college seemed to heavily push Unity always. I’ve taken it upon myself to try and learn on my own, and the engine’s tutorials and online videos make getting into Unreal relatively easy.
